At Pinnacles Diving in Novato, our goal is to train safe, competent divers ready to enjoy all the underwater world has to offer. Enrolling in the PADI Open Water Diver course is easy - no prior experience with scuba diving is required. You must be at least 10 years or older, with adequate swimming skills, and in good physical health.

The PADI Open Water Scuba Diver certification is internationally recognized and ranked as the best introductory scuba certification program in the world. Our goal is to train divers to be both safe and competent for maximum enjoyment of the underwater world. To enroll in a PADI Open Water Scuba Diver course, you must be 10 years or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required.
Part 1 - Home Study e-Learning (included in this purchase)
Begin your certification training by completing the PADI e-learning course, apox. 8 hour interactive online independent study course that will prepare you for your classroom and pool session. The PADI Open Water Scuba Diver eLearning can be completed at your own pace, and is compatable with most mobile devices. Once you complete your online purchase, PADI will email you your e-Learning link and access codes.
Part 2 - Classroom & Pool: (included in this purchase)
After a short classroom review you'll spend the day (9am to 4 or 5 pm) in our 12' deep heated pool in downtown Novato learning the required skills and saftey proceedures need to dive. All the skills you will do in the pool and ocean will be reviewed in your online e-learning. Your instructor will also explain and dimenstrate how to do each skill.
Part 3 - Open Water Dives: (not included in this purchase) to see cost and details of Part 3 "click"
After completing parts one and two, students are then required to demonstrate the skills they learned in confined water on open water dives. for 4 dives over two days are required to complete your PADI Open Water Diver certification. The cost for all 4 dives is $125
We try to make easy: If your from; Norhbay, East Bay, San Francisco, Bay Area, or outside of our local area. You only need to come to our shop 1 time on the day of your pool class, making it an easy option for those that live a little out of the area.
PADI Open Water Scuba Diver Course you must have adequate swimming skills, be in good physical health, and properly fill out a medical questionnaire.

- There are no refunds for failing to properly complete the medical form prior to your scheduled class.
- No prior SCUBA experience is needed. Minimum age to participate is 10 years, which qualifies for a Jr. Open Water Scuba Diver.

PINNACLES has a great selection of gear and knowledgeable staff to help you get outfitted for SCUBA diving. As a student you'll receive 10% of your purchases.

Most students will come 30 minutes early to their scheduled pool class and purchase gear then. This way you only need to come to the shop 1 time, so if you live out of the area, that can be very convenient. You have full exchange privileges so you'll be sure to get gear you're comfortable with.
Cancellation Policy
We ask that you are committed to your dates before you sign up for class. change the date up to 3 weeks prior to your class date without processing fee. Any cancelations or date changes after the 3-week cut off will incur a $50 fee per student.
Starting 1 week prior to your class date there are no refunds for cancelations and you will need to pay and additional instructor free of $100 for rescheduling. Failure to show up or call will forfeit your tuition. If you do not complete all your skills in the pool, or Open Water Dives. Private Dives can be scheduled at an additional cost. Tuition is non-refundable once your class begins, completed or not.
