The TUSA RS-790 regulator

The TUSA RS-790 regulator is a high-quality regulator designed specifically for scuba diving. Its first stage regulator is made of marine brass that is chrome plated, and its design is a balanced diaphragm that is environmentally sealed. This means that the internal mechanism is protected from contamination from external elements such as salt, sand, chlorine, or pool acids that can corrode and deteriorate regulator performance.

To further enhance the regulator's performance, TUSA has added a dry ambient pressure chamber to prevent water from entering the main spring cavity. This chamber maximizes the regulator's performance in cold water diving conditions below 50 Degree F (10 Degree C). Additionally, the outside of the chamber is ribbed, which increases the surface area and acts like a radiator to transfer heat further, reducing the problems associated with cold water diving.

The first stage has four low-pressure ports and two high-pressure ports, with the high flow low-pressure ports positioned near the diaphragm, which increases airflow by up to 15%.

The second stage is pneumatically balanced, with a small chamber that traps air and forces the poppet back against the intermediate pressure orifice, providing smooth breathing in all conditions. The regulator is lightweight and compact, making it easy to carry and use during diving sessions.

It also comes with a Venturi adjustment lever that has two positions selectable by the diver, and a silicone mouthpiece that is orthodontic-conscious and designed for comfort. The regulator is Nitrox compatible up to 40%, and it comes with a comprehensive owner's manual to help you understand its features and how to use it properly.

he SS0001 safe-second has a lightweight and compact composite case design and allows for both left-and-right-hand configuration. The SS0001 features a venturi adjustment lever for easier breathing and an ortho-conscious mouthpiece. The SS0001 combines a classic downstream valve with a large diaphragm and classic purge button. It's simple and robust construction with a techno-polymer valve housing offers the utmost in reliability and makes the SS0001 the ideal second stage for new divers and a perfect choice for deco tanks thanks to its reversible hose attachment. Classic downstream valves are particularly noted for their legendary safety and reliability. When in use, the downstream valve opens in the same direction as the incoming airflow. To close the valve and stop the airflow, a spring counteracts the force of the incoming air. Therefore, a certain inhalation effort is always required to overcome the spring tension and open the valve.

The SS0001 Second Stage has venturi system. The venturi uses the power of a vacuum assist to reduce work of breathing and increase breathing comfort. It is diver-adjustable dive/pre-dive switch. The SS0001 Octopus Regulator weighs 7.0 oz. TUSA Compass/Pressure Analog Console, (SCA-270)

TUSA's Compass/Pressure Analog Gauge has a rugged easy to read pressure gauge that has color coded pressure readout for added safety. The gauge measures pressure from 0 to 5,000 psi. The 0 to 500 psi section is colored in bright red to denote reserve air, the 1,000 to 5,000 psi section is color coded in blue. Pressure gauge is also equipped with a thermometer measuring temperature from 0°F to 100°F. The gauge is incased in an impact resistant boot with an eyelet for attachment of a lanyard or clip. HP hose is 7/16" threaded.

Many divers take compasses for granted, considering them just an accessory to an overall dive gauge console system. Trying to navigate with a poorly designed or improperly functioning compass can be one of diving's more frustrating events. The Compass is liquid filled for a smooth, fast reacting compass heading. Compass is equipped with both top and side scan reading for gun sight accuracy. The ratcheted rotating bezel has compass headings in 30° numbered increments and indicator marks for every 10°. Bezel has twin heading indicators for alignment of compass course, and a lubber line across the compass face.
