PADI Dive Theory eLearning
PADI Dive Theory eLearning is a convenient way for divers gain in-depth knowledge of how scuba allows humans to explore the underwater world. Using a laptop/desktop computer or mobile device, divers are guided through comprehensive explanations of dive theory topics including physics, physiology, skills, equipment, environmental considerations, decompression theory and the Recreational Dive Planner (RDP).
Divers of all levels can use the program for personal enrichment, however, PADI Divemaster, Instructor Development Course (IDC), IDC Staff Instructor and Course Director candidates will find this program useful to prepare for and get credit toward dive theory exams.
The best experience is to study online, however, if candidates find themselves without internet for periods (such as when commuting or traveling) or have inconsistent, poor internet services, they can download content to study offline via the PADI Training app.
The PADI Training app is available for Apple® iOS devices and Android™ devices. It’s best if devices are no more than three generations old. Content can be downloaded in sections for download convenience with a total file size of approximately 764 MB.
PADI Dive Theory eLearning provides basic knowledge via short topics that detail concepts, then tests understanding through knowledge check questions. Each of the six sections end with an assessments that verifies mastery of the entire topic. Sections and topics include:
- Dive Physics
- Physiology
- Equipment
- Dive Skills
- Environment
- Recreational Dive Planner (RDP)
Credit toward the dive theory portion of the PADI Divemaster, IDC, IDC Staff Instructor or Course Director Training Course (CDTC) exams may apply if Dive Theory eLearning assessments are successfully completed within 12 months.
